     NORTH DALMATIA AND ISLANDS    

The North Dalmatia covers an area from the island of Pag in the north to the Primosten on the south. The area was inhabited since ancient times, as testified by many ancient villages, Roman historical monuments and preserved mediaeval town center.

North Dalmatian islands are the most numerous islands in Croatia. About 500 islands and isles are divided into Zadar and Sibenik archipelago. The larger islands are the island of Pag, island of Ugljan, island of Silba, island of Vir, island of Murter, island of Pasman, island of Krapanj, island of Iz, island of Zlarin, island of Molat and the group of islands that make the national park of Kornati and the nature park of Telascica located on the Dugi otok.
The area of north Dalmatia also consists of NP Kornati, NP Krka and NP Paklenica, as well as two nature parks: PP Telascica and PP Vrana lake.
